This three and a half-week experiential program provides students with the opportunity to conduct service learning projects while studying sustainability throughout North Queensland. Known as the Sunshine State, Queensland is home to the Daintree Rainforst (a World Heritage Site), Outback scrub and desert, and the spectacular marine diversity of the Great Barrier Reef (another World Heritage Site).

This program travels to the stunning national parks, forests, wildlife reserves, coastlines, and islands of North Queensland under the guidance of knowledgeable field professionals. The starting point for this journey is Magnetic Island, a beautiful island with stunning beaches and abundant wildlife including a large population of koalas. You will enjoy hiking and exploring the island, while learning from local experts at prestigious institutions such as James Cook University, the Queensland Parks and Wildlife Service, and the Great Barrier Reef Marine Park Authority. Over the following weeks, you will then travel to a diverse selection of fascinating sites, including the Great Barrier Reef, ancient coastal rainforests, a rural farmstay, and an eco-retreat on the edge of the Outback.
