Program Overview

Bring your desire to learn and/or practice Spanish, your interest in climate change, and your curiosity of the Peruvian culture to Cusco this January. The Climate Change course is taught in English at CIEE Cusco and complemented with immersive co-curricular activities designed to increase intercultural understanding.

Excursions & Activities

Machu Picchu
Few sites elicit the wonder that Machu Picchu does. Students explore various historical interpretations by historians and archeologists and develop their own idea of the site’s purpose.

Maras Salt Mines
These famous salt mines have approximately 3,000 salt pools at the base of Qaqawiñay Mountain and supposedly, have been in operation since pre-Incan times.

Awanacancha Textile Market and Llama Farm
The Awanacancha Project offers students an unmatched tutorial in traditional textile weaving - from the dying of the yarn, to the intricate traditional Andean weaving techniques.
