Program Description:
MTSU Signature Program: Children's Literature in England 
Program locations: Oxford and London 
Dates: June 20 - July 3, 2018

Earn 3 credit hours for LIBS 4150 or LIBS 6310. 
Must have Junior, Senior, or Graduate standing for the Summer 2018 semester

Learn while you visit historic sites such as C.S. Lewis' house and view original documents such as Tolkien manuscripts and Beatrix Potter's artwork!  Tour British bookshops, Harry Potter sites, Lewis Carroll sites, and enjoy visits to public libraries and museums.  Examine current children's literature and its use in education in more depth by analyzing and comparing British libraries, schools, museums, and publishing in relation to American practices and trends. 

Estimated program cost: $3725 includes lodging, some meals, course-related entrance fees, excursions, cultural activities, in-country transportation. Program fee does not include MTSU tuition & fees, airfare, personal expenses, some meals.

LIBS 4150 fulfills requirement for Education majors in Interdisciplinary Studies (K-5), elective for other students. 
LIBS 6310 is a requirement for Library Science students seeking licensure/endorsement as a school librarian.
