Program Description:

Scholarship! The Office of Education Abroad Summer 2018 Scholarship and Grant are applicable to this program.  Please see the Scholarships section of our website to review requirements and apply.  Please contact the Office of Education Abroad if you have any questions.  We encourage all students to apply! 

Students will explore the full spectrum of applications of fermentation.  
Locations: Heidelberg and Freiburg, Germany and Basel, Switzerland 

This program will visit a pharmaceutical company, dye manufacturer, breweries, wineries, distilleries, bakeries, and sauerkraut and sausage producers, all of which will help to give students a well-rounded view of how versatile the field of fermentation science is. In their free time, students will be able to explore Germany and see first hand how fermented products are integrated into German culture. 

Estimated student cost: $3205

Program fee includes: 
Lodging, some meals, in-country transportation for course-related events, entrance fees, excursions, and cultural activities related to the course. 

Program fee does not include: 
Airfare, Education Abroad Fee ($50), iNext insurance fee ($32), some meals, personal expenses, new passport (if applicable), MTSU tuition and fees (25% discount for tuition and fees for this program).
