The Latin American Studies, International Business, Engineering & Courses with Locals semester program allows students at all language levels the opportunity to take Spanish-language courses and a variety of courses with locals instructed in English. In addition to that, students who have taken four semesters (or the equivalent) of college-level Spanish have the opportunity to enroll in courses with locals instructed in Spanish and a variety of disciplines.

Courses are available in a wide array of disciplines in both English and Spanish. Courses in English are primarily related to Business, Economics, Marketing, Engineering and Culture. Courses in Spanish are available in fields such as Engineering, Mathematics, Science, Art, Literature, Business, Economics, etc. Courses are taught by host university faculty at the Universidad Del Norte.

Students in this program also have the option of participating in service learning (Univoluntarios) or completing a research project. The Univoluntarios course is a 48 hour course for high intermediate and advanced-level Spanish students that allows students to volunteer in the local community and receive service-learning credit.

Students may also complete a research project. Students must be at the high-beginning Spanish level or higher to enroll and the project can be completed in either English or Spanish.
