MTSU Signature Program: Archaeological Field School/Ethnographic Field School, Brazil
Students have an opportunity to earn credit for:
- ANTH 4950 = 4-6 credits
- ANTH 4940 = 4-6 credits
- EMC 4940 = 4-6 credits

ANTH students will receive laboratory experience in human osteology and bioarchaeology, archaeological laboratory and field methods, and cross-cultural experience abroad in the Brazilian Amazon. EMC students will gain practical experience in the conceptualization, pre-production preparation, and production of specific program format. Students will learn and practice both the logistical steps and the creative steps to completing a seminal short film production in the field. Additionally students will learn to navigate a different culture not only from a personal standpoint, but through the lens of on-location filmmaking and the logistical challenges therein.
Estimated Program Cost: $1,310
includes lodging, meals, in-country transportation.

MTSU tuition and fees (will be discounted 25% for this program), airfare (estimated $1,300), field research fees ($800), vaccinations (estimated at $100), visa fee (approx $160) personal expenses, passport, Office of Education Abroad fee ($50), iNext insurance fee ($32)
