Education Abroad Advising

It is recommended that students who plan to participate on an education abroad program meet with an Office of Education Abroad for an advising session. This meeting should occur at least 6-12 months prior to your program of interest start date.  Additional advising sessions are welcomed.

Students who are interested in an MTSU Exchange Program will be required to meet with the Director or Advisor of the Office of Education Abroad.  This meeting should occur at least 9 months prior to the program start date or earlier.  The process for these programs is slightly different and has earlier deadlines than other programs.

NEW! Advising appointments are now available.

Outside of our walk-in advising hours, The Office of Education Abroad will be scheduling advising appointments that can be held in person in Jones Hall or via Zoom or over the phone if needed.  Email advising is also available.

Appointments should be scheduled through Navigate, just as if you were scheduling an appointment with your academic advisor. Click the box below to schedule or go to to schedule. You can also click on the Personal Advising Link for each of the advisors below if you know who you want to schedule an appointment with.

New to Navigate or need an overview of how to schedule an advising appointment?

How do you know who to schedule with

If you haven't already watched our Getting Started video, check it out first: Getting Started with Education Abroad.

When you email please indicate your preference for:
  • available days of the week,
  • best time of day for advising, and
  • what you would like to discuss  (such as: getting started, scholarships, exchanges, summer 2022 programs, etc...).

Walk-in Advising hours

No appointment necessary!
Walk-In Advising is available during the semesters on Tuesday and Thursday afternoons from 2:00 - 4:00 p.m. for any students who would like to drop in to ask their questions. The wait times can be unpredictable as we advise on a first come, first served basis and it depends on how many students show up, so you can always schedule an appointment by referring to the information given above if you prefer.

Walk-in Advising is in Jones Hall; check in at Jones Hall 155.

You can also email with basic study abroad questions.  If you are unsure where to begin, email us for guidance!
