Yes, there are A LOT of deadlines which need to be met in order to partcipate on an education abroad program!  We recommend adding them to your calendar early so you don’t forget!
MTSU Study Abroad Fair 2015
Save the date for the upcoming Study Abroad Fair!  We will have over 30 tables of information on program and country options, scholarships, and financial aid.  MTSU faculty, program representatives, and MTSU study abroad returnees will be on hand to answer your questions. 
Time and Location: Wednesday, November 18th from 10:00 am - 2:00 pm in the Student Union Lobby

MTSU EA Scholarship Deadlines
The applications for this scholarship can be found on the scholarship section of our website.  Outside scholarships have different deadlines.

Winter 16-17: will be posted in Summer 2016
Spring semester 2017: will be posted in Summer 2016
Summer 2016: closed

Fall 2016/Full Year 16-17:  closed

Final deadlines for MTSU OEA online pre-approval request (REQUIRED INTERNAL DEADLINE)

Please be aware that the deadlines listed in this section are internal.  You must meet the MTSU internal deadlines in addition to any partner or affiliated external program deadlines so do this early! See Step 4 of the Getting Started section of our website for more details.

Winter 2016-17:  October 28th, 2016
Spring semester 2017: November 4th, 2016
Spring Break 2017:  TBD
Summer 2016 programs: CLOSED (Summer 2017 pre-approvals will open in October 2016)

Deadlines for actual Education Abroad program applications
Contact your program directly for the exact date.  Below are typical ranges. Students are responsible for determining and meeting specific program deadlines as well as any MTSU internal deadlines.

Winter 16-17  & Spring 2017: Varies throughout August – October 2016
Summer 2017 & Fall/FY 2017-18: Varies throughout November 2016 – March 2017

MTSU Mandatory Pre-Departure Orientation Dates
Accepted students MUST attend the mandatory pre-departure orientation to participate on an education abroad program.  Put this on your calendar now!

Winter 2016-17: mid-November 2016 (details TBD)
Spring semester 2017: early December (details TBD)
Summer 2016 programs: Saturday, April 9th, 2016; 8am - 1pm; Student Union Ballroom
Fall/FY 2016-17: Saturday, April 23rd, 2016; 8:30am - 1pm; Student Union, Room 201

Gilman Scholarship Feedback - MTSU Internal Deadline
Are you a Pell Grant recipient?  Do you plan to study abroad on a Summer 2016, Fall 2016 or Full Year 2016-17 program? If so you may be able to apply for the Gilman Scholarship!  You can read more about this opportuniity on our Scholarships & Financial Aid page as well as the Gilman website.
To encourage and assist our MTSU students through the Gilman application process, we will provide feedback on the Gilman essays which are submitted to by the internal deadline listed below.  Please expect to wait 2-3 busines days for the feedback to your MTSU email address.  This is NOT a requirement to apply for this outside scholarship, but it is highly recommended.
